Ryan Oakden’s no stranger to skiing big lines in Coastal BC. Having cut his teeth in the sport at a young age, he earned his stripes after winning the Freeskiing World Championships in Tignes, France in 2001. Having since made appearances in films with Matchstick Productions, Teton Gravity Research and Rage Films to name a few, he’s well established amongst the industry.

20 years later, Ryan still spends as much time as possible sending natural features in BC’s backcountry, while balancing the responsibilities of everyday life. Despite growing older, Ryan’s stoke for the sport remains as strong as ever–inspiring all of us, whether young or old, to continue embracing the backcountry.
