RUNNING HIS OWN RACE
Soh Rui Yong is one of Singapore’s most accomplished distance runners: a two-time SEA Games marathon gold medallist, 2023 SEA Games 10,000m silver medallist, and holder of national records from 5,000m through to the marathon. A HILX athlete, Soh brings a direct, uncompromising approach to the sport—one built around taking ownership of the work, embracing the hard days, and refusing to let other people define the limits of his ambition.
His story is shaped by consistency over shortcuts. From the track to the road, each breakthrough has come through years of early starts, disciplined training blocks, recovery, and the willingness to return to the process day after day. His personal bests—2:22 for the marathon and 1:06 for the half marathon—reflect the depth of that commitment.
Soh’s Weapon of Choice
Savage
For Soh, every run is a test of focus. Singapore’s heat, glare, humidity, and constantly changing road conditions demand gear that can keep up when the pace rises. Whether he is logging easy kilometres, leading a demanding workout, or racing toward the finish, clear and reliable vision helps him stay locked into the line ahead.
But Soh’s impact reaches beyond his own racing. Through RunSohFast Academy, which he founded in 2023, he coaches working professionals remotely and shares the practical knowledge behind better endurance performance. He brings the same high standards to helping others build smarter habits, trust their training, and discover what sustained effort can achieve.
HILX supports athletes who move with intent—through long runs, hard sessions, race-day pressure, and everything in between. For Soh, the goal is not to follow the expected path. It is to keep setting his own pace, chasing the next standard, and proving what is possible when the work speaks first.
Set your pace. Hold your line. Run your own race.
